General Description

 
Indogel SGP-075M is mainly a kappa carrageenan, a food grade natural product processed from the red seaweed belonging to the family Rhodophyceae. It is a food additive specially developed for use in a wide variety of further processed meat products as binder and extender. Indogel SGP-075M is standardized with salts and sugar to optimize its functionality in specific applications such as in reconstructed hams and sausages and other emulsion based poultry products without masking or altering its flavor and color. This product offers numerous production and marketing benefits including higher cooking yield, reduced purge or syneresis, and improve texture and sliceability.

 
Regulatory Status

 
Indogel SGP-075M meets the definitions and requirements of carrageenan for food applications as set forth by the U.S. FDA (U.S. Code of Federal Register 21 CFR 172.620) and by the E.U. (E407a)
