Indogel SGP-425A (PT. GPI)

General Description

Indogel SGP-425A is mainly a kappa carrageenan, a food grade natural product processed from the red seaweed belonging to the family Rhodophyceae. It is a food additive specially blended and developed for use in high gel strength water-based systems such as dessert jellies and air fresheners. Indogel SGP-425A is also suitable for use in various milk-based formulations by providing excellent syneresis control, fine gel texture and elasticity, and good flavor release at appreciably lower usage level.

Regulatory Status

Indogel SGP-425A meets the definitions and requirements of carrageenan for food applications as set forth by the U.S. FDA (U.S. Code of Federal Register 21 CFR 172.620) and by the E.U. (E407a)
